The 9th ranked Wisconsin Badgers, despite some rare poor shooting, fell to

North Carolina 60-57 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge in Chapel Hill. 

The Badgers led by as many as 5 in the second half before North Carolina turned the tables with an 18-5 run.  Harrison Barnes played on a sore ankle and led all scorers with 20 points for the Tar Heels. 

Wisconsin trailed by just 1 at the half, but shooting, or the lack there of it, was crucial for UW.  Wisconsin entered the game shooting 47% from 3-point range, but his just 28% from beyond the arc in this contest.  The Badgers normally shoot 49% from the field but managed to connect on just 35% of their shots overall in the loss.

Senior guard Jordan Taylor had 18 for the Badgers, but he’s disappointed because he knew Carolina could have been had.

Junior forward Jared Berggren added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals for the Badgers.  Berggren hit 6 of his 12 field goal attempts.  Junior Ryan Evans added 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The Badgers fell to 6-1, suffering their first defeat (6-1) of the season.  They’ll return to Madison to host Marquette on Saturday.
