There are not many starting position open for the Green Bay Packers as they head into the 2008 season.  One position that does have competition is at linebacker were Brady Poppinga will try and fend off free agent signee Brandon Chillar.

Chillar signed a free agent deal during the off season to join Green Bay after spending time with the Rams.

Poppinga says that he is not upset that Ted Thompson inked a linebacker to compete for the starting job.  He says that only adds depth to the position and Chillar's style of play will benefit the team.  Poppinga adds that he takes competition as a positive as it will only make him a better player.

The Packers continue with OTAs through mid-June.  Training Camp opens in late July.
