Former Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach Terry Porter was the first candidate to interview for the Minnesota Timberwolves coaching vacancy.  Porter spent two seasons in Milwaukee from 2003-2005.

Porter lead the 03-04 Bucks to the playoffs and was in the running for the NBA Coach of the Year.  He was fired after the 04-05 when the team struggled with injuries.  In 2008 he was hired by the Phoenix Suns but did not make it through the entire season.

Porter is a Milwaukee native.  He played his High School ball at South Division and college ball at Stevens Point.  He spent 3 of his 17 NBA Seasons as a player with the Timberwolves from 1995-1998.
