The freezing and warming in Wisconsin is bringing potholes to roads. AAA Wisconsin spokesman Larry Kamholz recommends steering around a pothole unless evading it will risk an accident.

Spotting a pothole may not be an option, he admits, as the pothole may be filled with water or snow. The mobile club spokesman says potholes are seen more typically in the cities on highly trafficked roads that salt is used.

To ensure safe winter driving, Kamholz suggests having adequate tires. As far as shocks or alignment work you and your mechanic should decide on whether to fix your car now or wait until the pothole season ends in the spring.

In Milwaukee alone, 50 potholes were reported to local media so far this winter.
