Governor-elect Scott Walker has chosen a former mayor for a key cabinet post. Walker has selected former Green Bay mayor Paul Jadin to serve as his Secretary of Commerce, a key position in Walker’s pledge to create 250,000 new jobs. Jadin is the president of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. “Paul heads one of the most successful chambers, not only in the state but throughout the midwest and the country,” Walker said Wednesday, adding that he was fortunate to get Jadin to join his team. “He’s somebody quite frankly, had we not recruited him would probably have been recruited nationally.” Walker, who announced all his cabinet picks Wednesday, said Jadin will oversee the transition from the current Commerce department to a public-private economic development corporation, another key component of Walker’s jobs focus.
