A Dane County school district, which was already on edge after two students were arrested last week in connection with what police termed “potential threats,” was rattled again by an apparent prank 911 call. Deforest Police are trying to determine who callled 911 Wednesday afternoon, reporting a man with a gun inside an elementary school.

The call prompted a lockdown at the elementary school, and a precautionary lockdown at all schools in the district. Nothing was found. “This is not funny. This is not a joke,” said police chief Robert Henze. “The fear, what happens with emotions of parents and other children. Just not funny.”

Parents, students and staff were already on edge in the wake of the threats which closed all district schools last Friday.
