Attorneys for a Weston couple charged with reckless homicide in the Easter Sunday death of their diabetic daughter are asking a judge to modify their bond. Dale and Leilani Neumann want the judge to eliminate a requirement for a child safety plan. Their attorneys say in a written brief filed last week that the plan is no longer needed, especially now that a legal matter involving the children's protection has been worked out.

The plan requires certified caretakers look over the couple's three children and seek immediate medical help if they become sick or injured. It also lets social workers make unannounced visits to the home. A judge will have to decide whether the Neumanns can be trusted to raise their children privately without outside supervision. No hearing date has been set and the plan remains in effect until the judge rules on the motion. The Neumanns will be arraigned on reckless homicide charges next month.
