A pregnant woman from La Crosse woman is under arrest, after police say she tried to rob a restaurant while drunk.

38-year-old Julie Bailey of La Crosse is being held on a $10,000 cash bond, after a botched robbery attempt at a Taco John’s restaurant. Police say Bailey walked into the restaurant and told the cashier she wanted a soft shell taco and all the money in the register. She was armed with a hammer, but fled after she was unable to get it out of her pocket.

Police say the cashier contacted police when Bailey tried to flee. The pregnant woman was arrested a short time later with a blood alcohol level at twice the legal limit.

Bailey reportedly told authorities her roommate ordered her to get money to buy him crack cocaine or else she would be evicted. Bailey is due in court next week and is expected to be charged with attempted robbery and obstructing police.
