It was a different location, but the same message as both sides in the budget battle faced off at Madison’s Alliant Energy Center Sunday. The Americans for Prosperity group wrapped up their “Stand with Walker” bus tour.

The statewide tour was a chance for taxpayers to come out and show support for Walker’s efforts to balance the budget, says AFP State Director Matt Seaholm, who adds most of them can’t take a day off work to protest in Madison.

Seaholm says the main reason they didn’t choose the usual protest spot, outside the capitol, was to avoid the weather, “It’s cold out there and the protestors that we’ve encountered so far have been somewhat aggressive and having at least a wall in between us is a good thing.”

Demonstrators chanting “Kill the Bill” gathered outside of the venue which was no surprise to Seaholm who says they’ve been met with opposing protests at every stop.
