Prosecutors in the Weston prayer death trial continued building their case with testimony from two key witnesses Tuesday. Former business partner and Bible study member Althea Wormgoor testified that she called 911 for Kara Neumann when her mother Leilani would not. Wormgoor also testified that she believed in the healing power of prayer, but disagreed with the Neumanns on the idea that only sinners get sick.
A pediatric diabetes specialist later testified that Kara had a survivable case of the disease had she received treatment and that he's treated people with worse cases who lived. Dr. Ivan Zador also said Kara must have had the disease for at least two months prior to her death and that her case turned severe more quickly.
