Gay pride was on display around the Capitol Square Sunday, as several thousand people were on hand for the annual “Pride Parade and Rally.” The parade featured gay-themed floats, music and dancers.
“We need to come together and realize America is ready for gay marriage,” said one participant.
Wisconsin voters banned gay marriage in a Constitutional Amendment five years ago.
There were also a handful of people protesting homosexuality. “I got nothing against gay people, I feel sorry for them. I want them to go to heaven just like me,” said Bob Warner who came down from northern Wisconsin to attend the rally.
There was some shouting back and forth, but no big problems.
