The Doyle administration hands out another grant today to encourage bio-energy research and development.

Today it's Revenue Secretary Roger Ervin handing out a grant, part of the governor's goal to generate twenty-five percent of the state's energy from renewable sources by 2025 and capture ten percent of the bio-industry by 2030.

But renewable energy money has been cut from the republican version of the state budget. Ervin says such a move lacks vision of where the state needs to be in bio-energy development.

Secretary Ervin believes the grants and tax incentives are necessary seed money to encourage more production in bio-energy and research in the area for the future.
