A Wisconsin Congressman is hoping for quick action on a federal stimulus plan.

The U.S. House and the Senate are currently trying to work out the details of the federal stimulus package, and Wisconsin Congressman Ron Kind hopes they can finish by the end of the week. The Wisconsin Democrat says time is of the essence, as the state and nation continue to lose jobs due to a worldwide recession.

Kind says the problem is a basic lack of consumer confidence, and restoring that is the "multi-trillion-dollar question."

Kind says jumpstarting the economy is the most important thing right now, but the country also needs to plan for what comes after. He recommends forming a commission to deal with the country's long-term solvency.
