A judge in Racine has sentenced a man to 145 years in prison for molesting six children and making videos of the assaults. 30-year-old Alexander Richter pled no contest to four of the almost 50 charges against him, including child sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Racine County Judge Timothy Boyle called Richter “utterly disturbed and evil,” as the defendant smirked during a sentencing hearing Thursday. Prosecutors had recommended 80 years in prison for Boyle, but the judge said that was long enough.
Richter did apologize, saying his words could not undo the damage he caused to his victims, which were boys and girls between the ages of two and six.
Authorities say Richter volunteered to baby-sit the children of his fellow classmates at Gateway Technical College. Police seized almost 200 pornographic photos and 23 videos from his apartment. On many of the recordings, his young victims reportedly begged him to stop. One of the videos was titled “Monster Unleashed.”
