The co-host of a Madison radio show is claiming Wisconsin state Capitol Police violated his First Amendment rights, after they arrested him while he was filming members of the Solidarity Sing-along.
Phillip Dominic Salvia, who co-hosts the Madison-based “The Devil’s Advocate” radio show, was taken into custody last July during a crackdown on protesters at the Capitol. Salvia was filming the arrests and says video shows he was in the process of complying with police orders to leave the area when he was taken into custody.

The charges were later dropped, but Salvia says the arrest has damaged his reputation because pictures and video of it were seen in national media.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. The Department of Administration, which oversees the Capitol Police, declined to comment on the lawsuit.
