The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are looking to install additional drainage and in doing so, will replace the entire playing surface at Fox Cities Stadium today.
The project will begin with the removal of the infield grass, which is scheduled to be donated to the baseball diamond of Weyauwega-Fremont High School.
The Timber Rattlers front office will be helping with the installation of the sod in Weyauwega on Wednesday.
“We pride ourselves on having a state of the art playing surface and even though the field looks great, in order to ensure a great field for years to come, it is time for us to make these improvements,” said Rob Zerjav, team president of the Timber Rattlers. “We are also excited to be able to reuse virtually our entire existing field by donating the sod and the warning track material to area high schools.”
The team will also donate sod to Omro, Menasha and Neenah High Schools.
