The Celebrate Children Foundation wants you to get a specialty license plate to help foster vibrant and engaging early learning experiences – preparing kids for the rest of their lives.
“The Celebrate Children License plate has been a critical revenue source to our Celebration Children Foundation.”
Jim Leonhart, Executive Vice President of the Foundation says its purpose is to raise awareness of the need to invest in birth-to-five education. And, Leonhart says, part of their effort is to emphasize the need for additional training for child care providers. Leonhart says they are running out of the old version of the specialty plate, and it’s been around for ten years. So they’ve decided to tweak the design a bit.
“To highlight interest in that license plate, there are four options on our website,” and he is asking people to vote on their favorite design.
Leonhart says their intent is to have a little fun, get some input, and encourage folks to put the plate on their car. According to the DOT, motorists will pay the standard license plate registration fee, plus a 20 dollar donation toward the cause. There will be a one time issuance fee of 15 bucks.
Leonhart says of the 4.4 million plates in the state of Wisconsin, almost 6,000 are Celebrate Children plates.
