Last year’s race for Attorney General was an expensive one. Mike McCabe of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign says there was record spending; $8.3 million

McCabe says it all didn’t come from the candidates, as Republican J-B Van Hollen defeated Democrat Kathleen Falk. He says nearly $3.5 million was spent by special interest groups on "ugly, negative ads." Republican winner J-B Van Hollen and Democrat Kathleen Falk spent about $1.7 million each.
