Bucks guard Michael Redd was officially named to the United States Olympic Basketball Team on Monday.  USA Basketball released the 12 man roster on Monday, even though many of the names on the list had already been leaked.

Redd played for Team USA in the 2007 Tournament of the Americas and was their 4th leading scorer averaging 14 points per game as the team went 10-0 in the event last summer.

He says that the American players will have no trouble checking their All-Star egos at the door and play as a team in Beijing.   The American team will begin Olympic Training Camp on June 28th in Las Vegas.

The other 11 players named to the 2008 USA Basketball Senior National Team were: Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets); Carlos Boozer (Utah Jazz); Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors); Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers); Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic); LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers); Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks); Chris Paul (New Orleans Hornets); Tayshaun Prince (Detroit Pistons); Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat); and Deron Williams (Utah Jazz).  Team USA is coached by Duke University head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
