The Cincinnati Reds knocked off the Milwaukee Brewers for the 9th time in

10-games this season, holding on for a 4-3 win at Miller Park on Tuesday night. The Reds’ magic number for clinching the National League Central Division was reduced to four.
Reds starter Edinson Volquez allowed just 1-run on 3-hits in 8-innings of work to pick up the win and further state his case towards securing a spot in the Reds post-season rotation. Francisco Cordero made it interesting in the 9th but held on to earn his 38th save.
Dave Bush, making his last home start of the season, gave up all four runs in 5 1/3 innings. Bush is a free agent at the end of the season and there’s a good chance that he won’t be back with the Brewers next season.
Jim Edmonds homered in the second off of Bush, but hurt himself rounding the bases.
After Bush departed, Todd Coffey, Mike McClendon and Manny Parra combined to strike out 9 of the 12 hitters they faced.
