Packers logoAccording to a Fox Sports report on Thursday night, the Green Bay Packers have hired Brian Angelichio, the former tight ends coach of the Cleveland Browns.  Angelichio lost his job in Cleveland when the Browns fired head coach Mike Pettine.

Angelichio spent two seasons with the Browns and helped develop tight end Gary Barnidge, who was a former fifth-round pick of the Carolina Panthers.

Barnidge ranked third in the league in receptions for tight ends with 79, for a total of 1,043 yards and nine touchdowns.

Following a handful of college stints at SUNY Brockport, Ithica College, Pittsburgh and Rutgers, Angelichio moved to the NFL in 2012 when he spent two years coaching tight ends with Tampa Bay.

The Packers haven’t officially announced the move yet and may not do so until they complete their coaching moves.
