Tens of thousands of Packers fans will fill Lambeau Field this afternoon to help the team celebrate Sunday’s Super Bowl victory. The “Return to Titletown” event starts at 4:00 pm, but Green Bay police Lieutenant Jeremy Muraski says fans are showing up early.
The gates into the stadium open at 2:00, but the parking lot opened at 10:00 am. So, he says, people will be able to arrive, park, get themselves situated. “As long as they plan ahead like they do for any other Packer game day or Packer family fun night they should find themselves in a good position.”
During the one-hour event, several players, general manager Ted Thompson, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy are expected to talk to the crowd. The Lombardi Trophy will also likely be on display.
NOTE: Tickets for the “Return to Titletown” cost $5.00 but were sold out last night and are being scalped for over $100. Some radio stations are also broadcasting the event live.
