Sunday’s series finale against the New York Yankees having saved 15 games in 15 chances to lead the Majors. But all good things usually come to an end at some time.
Rodriguez was trying to protect a 5-4 lead in the 9th inning and put the Yankees away. But Mark Teixeira clubbed a two-out, 3-2 pitch into the seats in right field to tie the game 5-5 and give K-Rod his first blown save of the season. It was also the first run scored on Rodriguez this season.
After the Yankees failed to score in the 10th, Rickie Weeks doubled just inside the first base line with one out. Then it was Mark Reynolds turn to pick up Rodriguez by singling to left, scoring Weeks with the game winning run.

The Brewers are off today. They’ll open a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park on Tuesday night.
Rickie Weeks
Rickie Weeks is earning himself more playing time. Injuries have dropped the Brewers run production, which left manager Ron Roenicke looking for some other options in the lineup. Sunday, he went with Weeks, against a right-handed starter for the first time this season.
Weeks responded with a 3 for 5 effort with a sac fly and two rbi’s. He also scored the winning run after doubling in the 10th.
Weeks now has 11 hits in his last 19 at bats, a .579 clip that has seen his average climb to .318 on the season.
