An English teacher suspected of theft from Rhinelander High School is expected in court for an initial appearance today. Joshua D. Juergens, 35, of rural Rhinelander was arrested Wednesday and is facing several charges.
School officials were working with Oneida County Sheriff’s Department deputies to track several items believed to be stolen from the school. When deputies executed a search warrant, they found more than they expected. Not only did they recover stolen items, they found an indoor marijuana growing operation in Juergens’ home.
Rhinelander Assistant Superintendent Dave Wall said they have no information that would lead them to believe Juergens’ actions involve other people. He confirmed the investigation involves missing school property, and they are working closely with law enforcement to complete the investigation. Wall said staff and students were not in jeopardy by the actions of the accused instructor.
