A 19-year-old Two Rivers man is dead, and a 22-year-old Manitowoc man is in custody, following a road rage incident that ended with a two vehicle crash in Manitowoc Tuesday night. The situation began on South 21st street in Manitowoc, near Holy Family Memorial Hospial, and continued across the city’s north side.

The vehicle driven by the 19-year-old victim was sideswiped by the other vehicle on Memorial Drive, causing the victim lose control after being forced into the median. The victim’s vehicle then spun out of control before striking a guardrail on Memorial at Thiede Road. The victim was ejected and taken to a local hospital where he as a result of his injuries. Three passengers were riding in his vehicle, including a 16-year-old Two Rivers boy who was treated for a minor head injury. Two passengers, 19-and-20-year old men from Two Rivers, were not injured.

The Manitowoc man is being charged with hit-and-run causing death and homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Police said alcohol may have been a factor. The crash occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m., and the road was reopened shortly after 2:00 a.m. Wednesday.
