Polk County recorded two fatal vehicle accidents Monday and Tuesday, only about 1 mile apart. Polk County Sheriff Pete Johnson said that’s unusual. “Strange coincidences do happen sometime,” he said. Monday morning on Highway 35 in the village of Dresser, a pickup truck left the center line and collided with a semi. The pickup driver, a Minnesota man, was killed. Tuesday afternoon a motorcycle collided with another pickup on the same stretch of road. Johnson said he can’t remember two fatal accidents so close to one another.
