An ongoing dispute in the Edgerton school district involving threats of violence has put Superintendent Norm Fjelstad on edge.
"As as I was driving on to our campus, a walnut hit my windshield and exploded, and scared me half to death," Fjelstad told WCLO Thursday. "I ducked down, because my first thought was it could've been a gunshot." Fjelstad says several large rocks were also thrown, one just missing his windshield. He saw two or three kids wearing hooded sweatshirts run from the scene. "My windshield was covered with junk. It was a very frustrating experience, but part of the job."
Edgerton High School cancelled a homecoming pep rally because of rumors of violence. Fjelstad thinks the attack is related to an incident last week where students were banned from wearing t-shirts affiliated with the rap group Insane Clown Posse. The school board is looking into possible expulsions for two students.
