Just days after Brett Favre announced his retirement from football, the Packers new starter, Aaron Rodgers, arrived in Green Bay to meet and greet fans over the weekend.
Rodgers also met with the media on Sunday, but didn't seem overly excited about his newfound opportunity.
"I was excited," said Rodgers. "But to be honest, it was just another day. I had plans to play golf and see my buddy in L.A. and that's pretty much what I didn."
Rodgers demeanor may have been a bit strange, for somebody who just became the Packers starter with Brett Favre's departure, especially after a three year wait on the bench.
But Rodgers said there's plenty of time to get excited. He knows there'll be plenty of pressure that comes with the job. Expectations will be sky high, especially from the fans.
Rodgers will have to do something not a lot of other quarterbacks have pulled off successfully. He'll have to fill the shoes of a legend (Brett Favre). But he has to do it being his own man. He has to be Aaron Rodgers and not Brett Favre.
Rodgers appears to be off to a good start, but it's only March. Things won't heat up much in Green Bay until July, August and September.
