Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is trying to bond with his teammates both on and off the field.
Rodgers has been inviting players to his house on a once a week basis and planned to do so again last night.
Rodgers is taking over as the Packers starting quarterback this fall and wants to be close with his teammates on and off the field. He seeks their trust and respect. Winning and playing well will go a long way to insuring that.
But Rodgers biggest chore will be trying to find a way to succeed a legend. he said he plans to seek out other former players who have succeeded legends. Two that come to mind are Steve Young who took over for Joe Montana and Jay Fiedler, who replaced Dan Marino.
After sitting the bench for three seasons, Rodgers is surely ready. He said he knows the offense as well as he can possibly know it and is now ready to put all the preparation into motion. Favre's first chance comes Monday, Sept. 8 at Lambeau Field against the Minnesota Vikings. That night just happens to be the same night that Brett Favre will have his number retired.
