Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said quarterback Aaron Rodgers was sore on Monday, after suffering a calf injury in the Packers 20-3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. But Rodgers did go through the teams re-generation work on Monday and hopes to practice this week.
The Packers return to practice today, a day earlier than normal, due to the teams Christmas week schedule. Today (Tuesday) will act as the teams normal Wednesday workout and Wednesday (Christmas Eve) will take the place of a normal Thursday workout. Then, Mike McCarthy is giving his players Christmas Day off on Thursday.

Rodgers battled through the flu and a strained calf on Sunday, completing 31 of 40 for 318 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers.
Rodgers said Sunday that it would take a lot for him not to play this week against the Detroit Lions. But that doesn’t mean his calf strain will be 100% by Sunday, which could mean Rodgers might be confined more to the pocket and the Packers may have to rely heavily on Eddie Lacy and the running game.
