On today's 34th anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark Roe versus Wade decision, a state legislator says she's working to repeal an anti-abortion law. A state statute making abortion a crime in Wisconsin remains in place, although it's been unenforceable since the Supreme Court's landmark decision. But State Representative Terese Berceau (D-Madison) says that could change if the ruling is overturned. She says it could put doctors in jail and fine women for making a physical or mental health decision. Berceau plans to introduce a bill to repeal the law.

There is opposition to Berceau's efforts. Sue Armacost of Wisconsin Right to Life says the statute making abortion a crime should stay on the books. Armacost says Wisconsin would be the only state where such a law would immediately go back in to effect.

There is speculation the Supreme Court could overturn the Roe v. Wade decision someday.
