Most of the floodwaters have receeded, but recent heavy rains in Southern Wisconsin are creating more headaches for farmers.
UW-Madison Ag Agent David Fischer says farmers have a new problem to worry about; root rot. He says the large amounts of water have resulted in plants being exposed to more diseases, which can destroy crops.
For example, Fischer says wet soil and poor root development in corn fields could topple over the stalks when the winds pick up.
