House Speaker Paul Ryan said at again on Thursday – he’s really not interested in running for president. Ryan commented during a his weekly briefing with the media, a day after his predecessor John Boehner said Ryan should be the Republican nominee if this summer’s convention can’t make a choice on the first ballot.

“I saw Bohener last night, and I told him to knock it off,” Ryan said.

The 2012 GOP vice presidential nominee said he’s been clear on the issue for months. “I made a decision over a year ago not to run for president. I really believe if you want to be president, you should run for president.

Ryan said the choice should be from the remaining candidates “on whatever ballot we’re talking about,” and that speculation about him as a candidate should be “put to rest.”

Ryan also responded to remarks by Republican front runner Donald Trump, who predicted rioting would ensue if someone else becomes the nominee at the Cleveland convention. “Nobody should say such things, in my opinion, because to even address or hint to violence is unacceptable,” Ryan said.
