It's not just crack and marijuana; a growing number of teens are turning to prescription drugs to get high.
Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen says prescription drug abuse is the second most abused form of controlled substances out on the market today.
Part of the reason behind the trend is that many teens don't have to go far to find the drugs. Van Hollen says kids are just raiding the medicine cabinet or kitchen drawer at home, and then using or selling the drugs.
The Department of Justice has launched a major ad campaign to raise awareness of the problem. Van Hollen says parents are being urged to keep closer tabs on the medicine cabinet and even lock up dangerous prescription drugs.
The ads are running on TV and radio through the end of the month.
