Sanders is not active at this time because of an injury he suffered in early February.  He underwent surgery to repair orbital fractures after being elbowed in a game against Houston and he’s out for the rest of the season. That means Sanders suspension won’t take effect until next season, when he is physically able to play again.

Sanders said in a statement through the Bucks: “I apologize to the entire Bucks organization and our fans for being suspended five games for using marijuana in violation of the NBA Anti-Drug Program.  I take full responsibility for my actions.”

Sanders has played in only 23 games this season, averaging 7.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.7 blocked shots a game.  He was just starting to play well again prior to his eye injury in February.
