A 47-year-old Saratoga man has admitted kidnapping and sexually assaulting two men at his home last summer.
Edward Lanphear pled no contest on Monday morning to two counts each of kidnapping and first-degree sexual assault. Wood County district attorney Todd Wolf says the deal saves Lanphear's victims from having to testify at trial. It also gives Lanphear the maximum possible time in prison.
Lanphear faces up to 130 years behind bars when he's sentenced July 22nd, but Wolf will wait before announcing his sentencing recommendation.
The victims testified that Lanphear abducted them separately, chained them up inside his home and sexually assaulted them last July. One escaped and ran for help when Lanphear left to buy some cigarettes.
