North Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says the School Board’s decision to spend $63,000 to purchase 110 iPads is an investment in the future.
The Board reached that decision last week to purchase the iPads for teachers, administrators and board members. Sadoff says that purchase will allow for educators to learn about technology that’s available and incorporate it in classrooms.
“It’s helping to facilitate learning situations, help to develop creativity, cooperation, all those things. And also to differentiate how we teach kids at different levels,” he says, adding that teachers are more important than ever.
He says apps or applications are allow for interaction unlike “disposable resources” like textbooks and other learning tools, while at a fraction of the costs.
Sadoff points out teachers can even access university lectures through applications. He says over the next year or two they will investigate how to get technology like iPads and laptops into kids’ hands.
