A resolution on funding public education gets a Capitol hearing today. While not spelling out a particular plan, it does call on lawmakers to do something to address the school funding crisis in Wisconsin. Middleton Democrat, Rep. Sondy Pope-Roberts , author of the Assembly version (the Senate version is from Eland Democrat, Sen. Roger Breske ), says it was evident when the current revenue caps were enacted in 1993 that the funding issue would need to be revisited, and there are now a number of potential fixes. The state Senate's Committee on Education holds a public hearing on the resolution this morning.
