VanBronkhorst A sex offender accused of violating rules of his supervised release by may be reinstitutionalized under the state's sexual predator law. The Superior Telegram reports that Douglas County Judge Michael Lucci will make a decision by Friday, about whether to revoke the extended supervision of 66 year-old Keith Allen VanBronkhorst.

Douglas County District Attorney Dan Blank says VanBronkhorst's own words are evidence he violated term of his probation. According to Blank, VanBronkhorst made three separate statements to his probation and parole agent, having to do with alleged topless hugging sessions with the mother of a young child, and providing the woman with prescription pills. VanBronkhorst's Public Defender argued the statements were coerced while his client was in jail, and that the rules violations were not enough to warrant revoking his probation.

VanBronkhorst, convicted of first-degree sexual assault in 1989 for inviting three young children his home and making them touch him in sex games, is under strict supervision. He is hooked to both a GPS tracking device and electronic phone monitoring, and receives daily visits from corrections supervisors, weekly visits from Department of Corrections personnel and regular visits from other agencies.
