Not a bad start to the holiday shopping season at a major department store in southern Wisconsin. They had an increase of six percent in sales on Black Friday says “Susan,” one of the managers.
“I think it gives us an idea of the mood the shoppers are in and also what they’re looking for and how much money they’re willing to spend.”
Necessary-rather-than-luxury items were popular this year including bedding, home wares and cooking items. Susan says shoppers were definitely looking for bargains on items they wanted to upgrade from what they currently own.
