Drivers statewide are being urged to show their thanks to snowplow drivers.
TheGovernor has declared today Snowplow Driver Appreciation Day inWisconsin. Mike Goetzman with the DOT says it's a time to recognize thehard work of the state's plow drivers, especially following the recentheavy snows seen across much of the state. Goetzman says those drivershelp keep Wisconsin running during snowy weather.
Residents aren'tbeing asked to go out and hug a plow driver though. Goetzman suggestsshowing your appreciation by just giving them plenty of room to dotheir job. State law does require drivers staying at least 200 feetbehind a snow plow. He also suggests drivers consider just staying offthe roads when conditions turn nasty.
