Kayden Powell of Beloit is apparently “very well,” despite being found swaddled in blankets inside a tote bag outside a gas station in eastern Iowa in extremely cold temperatures. Town of Beloit Police Chief Steve Kopp delivers the good news.
“Thank you for coming here today to help us celebrate the safe recovery of 6-day-old Kayden Powell.”
The nearly-week-old baby was reported missing at around 4:30 on Thursday morning. Kopp says the baby was discovered by an officer checking along interstate 80 about 10:15 this morning (Friday).
Acting special agent in charge at the Milwaukee FBI office GB Jones says authorities worried about the baby since the very minute that 911 call came in.

Jones says it’s very fortunate the baby is alive. No charges have been filed and no suspects have been arrested in the case. The investigation continues.
Meanwhile, the newborn baby is found alive after authorities just this week just recovered 300-year-old Stradivarius violin. Jones says, “We’ve had a very great week.”
