A small tornado struck near Racine Sunday afternoon. It was classified as an EF-Zero, barely a tornado, with winds of 65 to 85- miles an hour. It was on the ground around five minutes, starting around the police and fire building in the Village of Sturtevant, and continuing east along a major highway.

The twister put a tree onto a house and branches onto power lines, blowing out vehicle windows, and tipping a pair of empty semi trailers. The storm petered out not far from Racine’s Regency Mall, leaving some 2,600 people without power for a few hours, and a few with some additional yard work.
