Kane Holbrooks pitched five shutout innings for the Beloit Snappers in a 5-1 victory over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Wednesday night at Pohlman Field. Anderson Hidalgo had three hits and Danny Rams homered and drove in three runs to pace the offense for Beloit. The Rattlers have lost three straight and are 1-6 in the first seven games of their current nine game road trip. The Snappers scored three times in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead and then added a pair in the bottom of the 6th. Wisconsin got their run in the top of the seventh inning.
Game two of the series is set for Thursday night at Pohlman Field. Nick Bucci (3-3, 3.55) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Beloit will send Michael Tonkin (2-5, 3.70) to the mound. Game time is 7:00pm.
