There's a little something extra to celebrate this Christmas. Or, maybe not so little. Madison and many other communities around southern Wisconsin have broken the December monthly record for snowfall. As of midnight Wednesday morning, Madison had received 36 inches of snow this month. For those keeping track at home, that broke the previous record of 35 inches set in December 2000. Those who don't feel like celebrating the new record certainly can't be blamed, especially since southern Wisconsin may be getting an additional three to five inches today. So, Merry Christmas, and take it easy shoveling, okay?
