For most of us getting around in the snow is hard but for those with disabilities it’s even more challenging. Jesse Kaysen of Madison says moving around successfully in her wheelchair, “is as easy as my neighbors make it,” referring to people ensuring their sidewalks are properly shoveled. Even one household that fails to do so results in an obstacle.

Specialized wheelchairs can travel in the street but Kaysen that can be dangerous as drivers may not be able to see them.
