Weather Advisory from DOT:

The first significant snowstorm of the season is currently hitting Southeastern Wisconsin. We have experienced multiple crashes on the freeway system as well as off of the freeway system. Weather reports indicate that the storm and clean-up are expected to last through the night and overnight.

Significant crashes have been experienced on I-94 Eastbound / Southbound near County K in Racine County, I-43 near WIS 167 near Mequon in Ozaukee County, in Germantown and Menomonee Falls area on US 41 and 45, near the Hale Interchange on I-43 in Milwaukee County.

Drivers are advised to avoid and delay travel. If you must travel allowing extra time for travel, be sure your headlights are on, and increase your following distance.

Should drivers be traveling they should avoid freeway crash locations. Travelers may monitor roadway conditions by utilizing the Department’s 511 web site at

www.511.wi.gov. Travelers are encouraged to have cell phones with them and appropriate winter clothing.
