Heavy snow can often lead to emergency room visits. During last weekend's snow storm, Appleton hand surgeon John Box says 23 patients were treated by his office for severe hand injuries suffered when they tried to clear clogged snowblowers. He expects to see more injuries with this snow storm. Box says the people he treated last weekend had significant injuries; all lost one or more fingers. If your snowblower gets clogged, Box recommends turning the machine off and clearing the chute with a stick. [WHBY's Rick Schuh contributed this report]
