Wisconsin drivers are paying more at the pump than they were last week, and speculation over oil prices is largely to blame.

Pam Moen with AAA-Wisconsin says the average prices for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is up $0.20 in the past week, to about $3.65 a gallon. Moen says it’s unfortunate prices have been on the rise again, although they are still lower than the average of $3.91 a gallon last month.

Moen says rising crude oil prices, fueled by speculation over the unrest in Egypt, are largely to blame. The trading price for crude oil is up to about $105 a barrel, as worries grow that tensions in the region could disrupt supplies.

However, Moen says there are no actual supply disruptions at this time. Barring any other factors that could pop up to impact supplies of crude oil or refined gasoline, she expects prices will go down again soon.
