The top ranked St. Norbert College Green Knights make their tenth NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in the last 12 years. The Green Knights, coached by Tim Coghlin (pictured), are 9-9-1 all-time in NCAA competition and will face St. Thomas of Minnesota Saturday night at 7pm.
The Green Knights appeared in their first Frozen Four in 2003 with a quarterfinal win over UW-River Falls before losing to Norwich in the semifinals.
In 2004, St. Norbert beat River Falls in the quarterfinals and Plattsburgh State in the semifinals before losing in overtime to Middlebury 1-0 in the National Championship game.
In 2006, St. Norbert beat UW-Superior in the quarterfinals and Hobart in the semifinals before losing to Middleburgy 3-0 in the national title game.
St. Thomas is making its 13th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. The Tommies are 9-15-4 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, and finished as national runner-up in 2000 and 2005.
The Green Knights carry a 26-game unbeaten streak into play after beating UW-Stout 4-3 in overtime to win the NCHA's Peters Cup Championship last Saturday night.
St. Norbert leads St. Thomas in the series 4-2-2. The Green Knights have won the last three meetings in the series, including a 4-3 overtime victory at home on January 12th.
